From birth in South Africa he has done nothing but make pretty pictures and silly noises.
Charl Joubert – Founder of Stellachor.
Finishing High School in 2002 he very quickly grabbed a diploma in animation and a Ba. in VFX and Sound Design. He started his career at Clearwater making friends and colleagues along the way. Afterwards he tried his hand at teaching but always looked to the horizon wanting to create again. After a small stint at Birthmark he became VFX Supervisor at Orijin before inevitabilities drove it to the ground. In freefall for mere hours Wicked Pixels snatched him up making him their Lead VFX Supervisor. And how here he is, raw. It’s time to see what all these companies have been hiding from you.

Past Experiences
Lead VFX Supervisor at Wicked Pixels
(2015 – 2020)
Made lots and lots pretty videos and won many gold and silver awards for VFX and Ident Design.
VFX Supervisor at Orijin
(2011 – 2014)
Streamlined the promo and channel ident element delivery to such a point that it became a case of “excel sheet in; endboards, bumpers, straps, and squeezebacks out”. Unfortunately such efficiency could not stand against outside pressures and the company closed. Plenty of Gold Promax Awards also showed up.
Everything before
(Pre 2011)
Played nice at Clearwater doing a lot of promos. Coolest thing was all the 3D Idents and Channel Branding for Multichoice’s brand new and FIRST HD channel in South Africa, M-Net HD. Taught Animation at AFDA and then Video 101 at Boston Media House. Freelance work tugged a lot though and Orijin finally snatched him up.
